21-24 July 2022 Jodrell Bank Observatory

There are a wide variety of bars on site at this years festival, with craft beers, real ales, cocktails and wines. The main bars in the arena will be serving a variety of draught to tantalise those taste buds including:

Amstel – a classic 4%, golden premium Bavaria-style pilsner, with a very distinctive and mildly bitter taste
Three Hop – a 4.5% craft lager and brewed from three European hops. A distinctive lager with a strong hop character.
Coast to Coast – a 4.6% bronze craft beer brewed with American hops imported form the Yakima Valley on the west coast.
Blue Moon Belgian Wheat – a tasty 5.4% craft beer inspired by the flavorful Belgian Wits. It has a cloudy appearance as it is unfiltered beer and a zesty orange fruitiness with a light spicy wheat aroma.
Symonds Founders Reserve Cider is a distinctive premium cider at 5.5%. Blended from the finest Herefordshire apples including Dabinett & Michelin; resulting in a characteristically fresh, crisp, fruity cider, with a high degree of complexity and depth of character.
Dark Fruit – Stronbows 4% crisp apple cider combined with a refreshing blend of blackcurrant and blackberry, delivering Strongbow’s signature cut-through refreshment. The Dark fruit make it relatively low in sweetness and ideal for easy-drinking.

Join us in The Sun Inn – a Real Ale festival situated opposite the main stage. A fine selection of real ales served by hand pull pumps plus our very own Blue Dot Ale, specially brewed by Lancaster Brewery for the festival.

Grab a pint, a table and watch the main stage performances!

The Blue Moon Bar

Good things only come around once in a Blue Moon. In recognition of this, Blue Moon, the number one craft beer in the US, is bringing its Once in a Blue Moon interactive art installation to the festival. The installation has been inspired by the beer’s unique story. First brewed from the Colorado Rockies’ baseball stadium in Denver, the assistant brewer remarked that “a beer this good only comes around once in a blue moon”.

To celebrate the ‘blue moon’ moment Keith Villa, the beer brand’s head brewmaster and founder, had when he created the beer, festivalgoers are being encouraged to dream big and add their wish to the growing installation. The wishing tree will feature hanging oranges and an array of light, sound, orange scents and textures to celebrate Blue Moon moments and the beer’s perfect serve of a full moon orange slice garnish.

Wines of Argentina

Argentina produce some of the best wines in the world and most famous for their Malbec styles. A selection of fine, light and elegant wines. Find them in the science garden just under the telescope.

The Lovell Arms

A craft beer bar situated beside the telescope. Craft beers include a selection from Maltsmiths and Lagunitas.
