The Carbon Impact of our Lifestyles
Department of Science and Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University
Most of our day-to-day activities result in the emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. At this exhibit we will help you to understand the carbon implications of our lifestyles and the choices we make on a daily, and not so daily, basis. Themes include learning about waste and the environmental impacts of aviation and travel. How much carbon might it have taken some of the bands to reach Bluedot festival this year? What about your own travel choices? What are the carbon implications of what we consume? How can the ‘Circular Economy’ help to eliminate waste from events such as music festivals?
Researchers and carbon experts from the department of Science and Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University will be on hand to help guide you through a number of immersive and family friendly activities, and to give you hope that a sustainable future is within our grasp.
