CLOUDSCAPES by Gobbledegook Theatre an intimate installation set in an outdoor auditorium — a cloud-gazing area. Take a load off, get comfy on bean bags, pop on your headphones and listen whilst artist Lorna Rees tells stories of her relationship with the troposphere and the journey of a lifetime with her father. Spend 25 minutes looking up and contemplating the mutability of clouds, as well as the mutability of humanity. Even the most seemingly featureless skies provide plentiful material.
Cloudscapes is a very personal, human-scale work about clouds, with a focus on the role of clouds in climate change. After the audio has finished, take the opportunity to visit the Cloud Museum housed in a vintage horse trailer and speak with the artists and Cloud experts about the work.
Cloudscapes is made in collaboration with artist Heidi Steller with sound recorded and edited by Jo Tyler of SoNiche Productions. Dramaturgical support was from John Grindrod , Zoe Svendsen and meteorologists and scientists involved in the study of climate change. Cloudscapes was commissioned by Inside Out Dorset and supported by Arts Council England.
