Clangers 50th Anniversary Screening + Q&A with Maggie Aderin-Pocock
Clangers celebrated their 50th anniversary and 50 years to the day since the Moon Landing with us at bluedot with an exclusive screening of their new third series and a very special Q&A with the Clangers production team.
Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE hosted the panel, a space scientist and life long fan of the Clangers. Maggie is the inspiration for a character in their commemorative episode, ‘The Visitor’ , which features an astronaut, who lands on the Clangers’ Little Blue Planet, in a storyline that pays homage to the original moon landings episode, ‘The Tablecloth’.
Joining the discussion was:
Series Producer, Dan Maddicott, who is also chief whistler on the new series, translating the Clangers’ very unique language on screen via a collection of swanee whistles.
Executive Producer Daniel Postgate, who is son of the Clangers original co-creator Oliver Postgate. Dan writes many of the scripts and storylines for the new series and was nominated for a BAFTA for his writing on the show.
Clangers Co-Directors Chris Titchborne and Joanne Chalkley, from the award-winning Factory studios in Altrincham, where the show is animated.
