British Antarctic Survey
British Antarctic Survey, the UK’s national science institute which operates in both Antarctica and the Arctic, will showcase elements of its scientific research at the Bluedot festival. Come and take a sneak preview of the UK’s new polar ship the RRS Sir David Attenborough and talk to the scientists who work on the ice. A selection of marine creatures and fossils will be on display as well as a field camp showing how scientists live and work in the deep field. Talks will include what it’s like to manage an Antarctic research station and how ship-based research helps scientists to understand past climate to make better predictions on future change.
Professor Dame Jane Francis, Director of the British Antarctic Survey, and Dr Robert Mulvaney, Science Leader at The British Antarctic Survey will be both be speaking at Bluedot, as part of our Dot Talks series.
