Cheshire Beekeepers Association
The Cheshire Beekeepers’ Association has over 600 members around the county and our aim is to look after bees and beekeepers. We have a training apiary near Sandbach where we run courses in beekeeping from beginners’ level up to advanced. We have monthly meetings where we hear talks from experts about all aspects of bees and beekeeping, and we actively involve ourselves in the community – giving talks to schools and community groups and running information stands at public events and shows. We helped to establish the apiary at Jodrell Bank. The arboretum is an ideal place for bees. Trees provide more forage for bees than the plants on the ground of which we are much more aware. At the Bluedot Festival we will provide information about bees (not just honeybees!) and the opportunity to see inside a (virtual) hive of bees.
