Love and Being

Niki Igbaroola is a prolific reader with a BA in Classical Studies and English Literature and an MA in American Literature and Culture. Her love of Literature has seen her develop the platform: @blackgirlrumble which has allowed her to connect with and interview authors like Dorothy Koomson and Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi. She is also a published poet, with a piece appearing in the The Colour of Madness: Exploring BAME Mental Health in the UK. More of her writing can be found on Black Ballad UK, The Book Banque NG and Genevieve Magazine NG.

As a storyteller, she has explored multiple mediums, with a two-year stint as a Radio Presenter for Reform Radio and Copy Editor credits for the FinTech Digital series: #DoughStories. Currently, she is Talent and Audience Development Manager at Cassava Republic Press overseeing the marketing of their titles and expansion of their audience since 2020.

Jarred McGinnis was chosen as one of the UK’s ten best emerging writers. His debut novel ‘The Coward’ was selected for BBC 2’s Between the Covers, BBC Radio 2’s Book Club and listed for the Barbellion Prize. He also has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, but mostly he inspires the able-bodied by using public transport and taking his daughters to the playground.

Kasim Ali works at Penguin Random House and has previously been shortlisted for Hachette’s Mo Siewcherran Prize, longlisted for the 4th Estate BAME Short Story Prize, and has contributed to The Good Journal. He comes from Birmingham and now lives in London. Good Intentions is his debut novel.
