Dr Paul G. Abel
Dr Paul G. Abel is a Theoretical Physicist based in the Centre for Interdisciplinary science at the University of Leicester, where he teaches mathematical sciences on the Natural Sciences degree. His first degree was in mathematics and his Ph.D. was in theoretical physics. His current research area is concerned with Hawking radiation and quantum field theory in curved Spacetime backgrounds.
From 2009 until 2013 he was one of the co-presenters on the BBC’s ‘The Sky at Night’ alongside Sir Patrick Moore. Over the years he has written many popular science articles, two books and co-authored a third. He has also made numerous radio and TV appearances promoting amateur astronomy, black holes and gravity.
