Sprouting from the abundantly talented shores of Ireland comes a DJ who is well and truly in bloom.
Holly Lester has familiarised dance music enthusiasts with her shape-shifting Chicago and New York aesthetic through a residency at the esteemed Chibuku Shake in Liverpool, alongside a monthly slot in neighbouring city Manchester with Limbo Radio, where killer guests such as Lobster Theremin’s ASOK and Body Fusion’s Bobby Analog have showcased their musical knowledge.
The Irish selector has illustrated her own sonic philosophy in a variety of mix sequences, most notably with fellow Irishmen Feel My Bicep, a mix that received rave reviews, and with Manchester’s The Warehouse Project; a concept that she has developed a close relationship with.
Holly has lined up alongside a varied and pristinely talented stable of guests, including Jackmaster, Jeremy Underground, BICEP, MCDE and Paul Woolford, illuminating an adaptability and sonic intuition to accustom to diverse musical palettes Belfast’s AVA Festival is renowned in Europe as one of the continents finest young smart festivals. It is here, in June 2018, that Holly will be making her Boiler Room debut alongside Mano Le Tough and Job Jobse. It will be Holly’s second time playing the festival; yet another concept that she has developed a bond with through a mutual fascination with raw broken beats and serene, nostalgia provoking house.
