Phill Jupitus: Artist in Residence
Phill Jupitus (as Porky The Poet) appearing Friday night in Contact. Then look out for him around site as bluedot “artist-in-residence” all weekend.
Before showbiz stole him away, Phill Jupitus was a poet and cartoonist. Initially drawing for fanzines, he subsequently did illustration and design work for Billy Bragg, Hank Wangford, Linda Smith and The Housemartins. His work has also appeared in The NME, The Guardian, The Times, Radio Times and New Statesman (still not been paid for that one). After a retrospective in 2013 in Leigh on Sea, he had two exhibitions in Fife in 2019; ‘The Art Tourists’ and ‘Madmensheviks’. Phill lives in Scotland and is currently studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee.
