The Hunt for the Oldest Ice on Earth

Dr Mulvaney, who has spent more than 20 field seasons drilling ice cores in the Arctic and Antarctica will talk about a new and exciting European project to find the oldest ice on Earth. Recently back from Antarctica after 8 weeks working in temperatures of below -25C, Robert will describe how ancient ice reveals the secrets of past climate. And by understanding the past, scientists can better understand what is happening to our climate today and looking to the future.

Presented by Robert Mulvaney.
