20-23 July 2023 Jodrell Bank Observatory

Immerse into a world of wonder with your little explorers with our full family programme at bluedot 2018.

The Star Field and The Planet Field will be the hub for family-friendly discovery with scientific displays, games, experiments and workshops galore including an educational racing car game, hands-on insect investigations and joining The Week Junior for their Big Debate Live alongside journalism workshops and much more.

The Launch Pad, a brand new area in The Star Field, will encompass even more inspiring science shows, interactive demonstrations and live experiments for young, budding scientists. Play mousetrap with giant balloons, discover how sounds are made with Science Made Simple or explore everything you need to know about our neighbouring planet Mars.

New for 2018 – pre-book and secure your place on one or more of our exciting workshops, all priced between £3 – £6 per person. The Making Rooms return with their popular t-shirt making sessions, Practical Action invite you to create your own floating garden or make your very own water filter, live out your dream to become the next Jedi with our Light Saber training sessions, get stuck in with thinking like an engineer in a hands on workshop and OhBot returns, giving you another chance to programme the friendly OhBot to rap, move and sense the beat!
