Composites Corner
Composites are made of two or more materials which do not dissolve or mix, when you combine these together, they create a material with different properties to the starting materials.
Composites allow the manufacture of lighter and stronger cars, airplanes or other products from our daily lives. Before a product is launched these new materials need to be tested without damaging them.
At composite corner we will show you how to make and test composites and show examples of where are using and we hope to use these advanced composites.
The activity comprises of show and Tell 3D printer and making of a composite panel using “Modroc” (the bandaged used in hospitals to fix broken arms), as well as a variety of items made from composites.
