Manchester Metropolitan University: The carbon impact of our lifestyles

Most of our day-to-day activities result in the emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere – either directly or indirectly. At this exhibit we will help you to understand the carbon implications of our lifestyles and the choices that we make on a daily, and not so daily, basis. Themes include learning about waste, plastics, and the environmental impacts of travel. How much carbon did it take some of the bands to reach Bluedot festival this year? What about your own travel choices? What are the carbon implications of waste and how can the ‘Circular Economy’ help to reduce waste from events such as music festivals?

Experts from Manchester Metropolitan University, including researchers in sustainability and qualified carbon literacy trainers, will be on hand to help guide you through a number of immersive and family friendly activities, to give you hope that a sustainable future is within our grasp. There will also be a sustainability quiz so keep an eye out for clues at our stall!
