Physics in the Field
The team will be performing physics tricks – hand-held demos using things you can find at home – and making sure you get a go too. Some of the tricks are messy, some are noisy, but all of them are guaranteed crowd pleasers that help to illustrate different areas of physics.
Try making a balloon kebab – can you stick a skewer through a balloon without bursting it? Do your friends trust you enough to sit still while you hold a whole glass of water upside down over their heads? Try all of these and more.
The Institute of Physics is a leading scientific membership society working to advance physics for the benefit of all. Our purpose is to gather, inspire, guide, represent and celebrate all who share a passion for physics. And, in our role as a charity, we’re here to ensure that physics delivers on its exceptional potential to benefit society
