Urban Flows Observatory: The Importance of Air Pollutants

A collaboration between Urban Flows Observatory and the Grantham Centre, Sheffield

Explore the urban environment, pollutants in the breathable air and the route to sustainability by visiting the Urban Flows stand and explore real time data and its analysis during the Festival.

Learn about processes and equipment used to measure air quality, as well as the sources and consequences of particulate matter as a pollutant, and how plants in the urban landscape can act as filters. The team will demonstrate how they interpret the data collected and analysed to optimize the surroundings. They’ll also explain the use of this technique in enhancing the urban environment as well as the role of plants in air pollution removal, as solutions for moving towards a Sustainable Future.
